Before Grandpa left we did decorate gingerbread trains and sleighs. Kaden did his own sleigh, Ethan and I did a train, Trevor and Grandpa made a sleigh, and Daddy and Luke made a train. It was a good time!

We enjoyed a nice Christmas Eve. I made the kids endure one of my family's Christmas traditions and watch Scrooge (Thank you Kara for sending it to us, it was seriously so fun to watch again). We made a nice roast beef dinner and finally the kids got to open their cousin gifts. They were all big hits!

We then got together to write down our gifts for Jesus because it is his birthday that we are celebrating. We each wrote or drew our gifts and then sealed them in an envelope to be opened the next year. Next Christmas we will open them up and will check to see if we did follow through with our gift.
The kids each decorated a plate of cookies for Santa and went off to bed.

Christmas morning Luke was the first one up (he is our early riser). After waking the kids up we lined them up to come down the stairs. Luke got to come down first, with help from mom.

Christmas morning is always beautiful. . . .

. . . until the kids start going crazy!

The highlights for the kids were Kaden getting a pogo stick, Ethan getting a couple of video games, Trevor got a Lightning McQueen bike with training wheels, and Luke, well, he got a bunch of random things (he especially likes his new bath toys and foam).
We had a wonderful Christmas and feel so very blessed especially at this time of the year!
