Kaden, Ethan, and Trevor are really enjoying their tennis lessons.
Friday, July 1 (Canada Day)
To celebrate, Aaron and I got to go out on a date. We went to the retirement party for one of Aaron's old co-workers from the school district and then went to the new Transformers movie. It was a great evening together, but I didn't take any pictures. Sorry!
Saturday, July 2
We got up early with full intentions of working on our yard. We even made a trip to Home Depot for flowers and other yard supplies. On the way home, our friends called us and asked if we wanted to go boating with them. Of course, are you kidding me!? We quickly dumped our yard work and got ready to leave.
Aaron showed of first on one ski.
They only had one ski. So we got to learn how to wakeboard. Super fun, but so different than skiing. Aaron was the first to try. It even took him a couple of tries to get up.
Kaden was next. They attached a "boom" to their boat that helps you learn how to wakeboard. Kaden was a natural and got up very quickly. After he mastered holding onto the boom, he quickly figured out how to get up holding the rope attached to the boom.
Trevor was soooo excited. He did so good!!!
Ethan was a little nervous but also did fantastic!
I too was a little nervous and wanted to start out on the boom. I moved from the boom, to the rope on the boom, to the rope behind the boat. It was super fun, but I'll tell ya, it was hard getting the hang of how to get up.
We then got the tube out to pull behind the boat. This was a hit with all the kids, but Trevor did not want to get off of that thing.
Luke loved to have something he could do too. He especially loved "surfing" to the Beach Boys!
To end our fun, Aaron got to try "wake surfing." This is where you literally surf the wake from the boat. He caught on very quick but still had to use the rope to give him balance.
Thank you Dobbs for the absolutely amazing day!!!!!
Sunday, June 3
We had a great time playing Scattergories.
Monday, July 4 (Fourth of July)
Ethan, Trevor, and Luke worked really hard to catch this Lizard. Unfortunately when I tried to take a picture of it in the box, he escaped. The kids were so sad!
We had a great evening eating dinner at Olive Garden and then watching the firework show. Yes! I stink at trying to take pictures of fireworks. Either the pictures are way way blurry or my timing is so off that the fireworks are not even going off when the picture takes.
Tuesday, July 5
The kids and I had a great day at the pool. The best part was that some of our friends randomly showed up too.
Wednesday, July 6
Today we met Aaron for lunch and then went and took advantage of one of the free Reno Artown activities. At Clay Canvas we got to paint tiles that they will fire and finish for us.
That evening we went to another free Artown activity, hula hooping. We thought there was going to be a show with interaction from the audience. Nope, just a bunch of people hula hooping. It was fun but there were also a lot of weird people there, so we didn't stay too long.
